YOUR ROLE

  • Act as a subject matter expert for food and food contact materials regulatory projects based on international regulatory frameworks
  • Lead and manage food contact regulatory projects from first client contact through project completion, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality regulatory reports
  • Provide regulatory consulting advice to clients and internal colleagues using global regulatory expertise in food and food contact materials
  • Conduct technical reviews of regulatory compliance assessments and provide regulatory interpretations and guidance
  • Establish and continuously improve standards to enhance performance, quality, and organizational communication
  • Lead, motivate, and manage staff through effective communication, feedback, performance reviews, and conflict management
  • Onboard, mentor, train, and develop team members; support continuous professional development
  • Plan resources, propose hires and terminations, and participate in recruitment and interviews
  • Lead budget planning in collaboration with global and finance leadership
  • Manage capacity utilization of global direct reports to ensure efficient resource use
  • Optimize workloads to maximize project profitability without compromising quality
  • Monitor and adjust team capacity and workloads in collaboration with global leaders
  • Ensure overall project and portfolio profitability
  • Lead the integration of new regulatory experts into global knoell projects
  • Maintain and expand revenue from an existing book of business
  • Retain, develop, and expand relationships with existing clients
  • Network with existing and potential clients to identify new opportunities
  • Monitor customer needs and market trends and communicate insights to the Global Head of Regulatory Affairs, Food and Food Contact Materials
  • Support and lead proposal development in collaboration with clients, proposal authors, project managers, and proposal support teams
  • Ensure overall client satisfaction and delivery of regulatory outputs in line with project proposals
  • Organize, coordinate, and manage multidisciplinary project teams
  • Oversee project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation
  • Analyze project success in collaboration with project controlling and business unit leadership
  • Provide regulatory expertise to support successful project outcomes
  • Ensure clear, timely communication with internal teams, clients, and regulatory authorities
  • Maintain a strong sense of urgency around project execution and deliverables

Identify project risks, issues, and corrective actions

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline; Master’s or PhD preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in food and/or food contact materials regulatory compliance or authorization
  • Experience working within national and/or international regulatory environments
  • Strong working knowledge of US FDA, EU, and/or other global food and food contact materials regulations
  • Previous people management or direct supervisory experience preferred
  • Project management experience or certification (e.g., Six Sigma, PMI) is an advantage
  • Experience working in a consulting environment and/or with suppliers
  • Proven ability to manage teams and complex projects in a global setting
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and prioritization abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an asset
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a global, cross-functional team

OVERVIEW

In this role, you will help build and lead a growing global Regulatory Affairs team supporting a diverse international client base in food and food contact materials compliance. You will be accountable for the successful delivery of complex regulatory projects from initiation to completion, including capacity planning, budgeting, and day-to-day team operations, while ensuring high-quality outcomes and strong client satisfaction.
